We are Wesley and Lieza van der Walt, 30 something finance people with an itch for travel. Our careers allow us to work from anywhere and so we decided to pack our possessions into the back of a van and try our hand at a nomadic adventure across Southern Africa.
The basic plan is to spend 4 – 6 weeks in different towns across South Africa trying to take in all they have to offer. We are up for all of it, hiking, camping, backpacking, overlanding, glamping, tenting, slackpacking, Airbnb’ing and every activity between bird watching and paragliding off a cliff.
The aim for Every Square Mile is to document our local travels as a hopefully useful guide for other travellers to get out there and see it all.
Our Past Adventures
Over the last 10 years, we have tried our best to travel as far and wide as possible. We love self-catering and budget backpacking trips with activity-based adventures to experience everything on offer. We’ve had a wide range of experiences, from awesome “off the beaten track” vibes to underwhelming tourist traps.
